Thanks rex!

My current OZ and front brakes will be going to the Eddie. My wife will take my GT Sport as her car so it's better to fit the Omanyt back. They're stronger and can withstand potholes better. :signLOL:

Currently it has Eibach Sportline springs and I'm thinking of fitting some Koni Sport dampers that my mechanic will adjust to my liking. I know here most prefer Bilstein B8 but fine tuned the Koni should be better.

Made the deal, so I'm the new owner of a CW 3 doors Eddie with DSG. Most likely the only in my country. It's pretty much in mint condition and has less than 35.000 miles.

I already have a long list of mods to do and some were just ordered. The biggest so far is a new BCS exhaust, just waiting for new instructions from Nige. :jumping:

Here's an old picture. The previous owner made some changes to the centre grill and wheels but I'll return them to OEM look and fit my OZ instead.

I've also decided that the R32 front brakes won't be enough for my future needs so I'm thinking of getting the TTRS front calipers with 350 mm discs from the ML350.

I wanted to buy a second car this year but I thought my wife would prefer a Passat Variant or something like it. She prefered a smaller car but not smaller than a Golf, so the best car to get is another Golf. This was the only available in Portugal. I thought about importing a 5 doors from German

The diesel is going to be my wife's car as she wanted a 5 doors and we're going to use it for our travels as well.

Very nice! congratulations mate.
Thanks mate! With this new acquisition my plans to upgrade the audio will be postponed but I'm loving following your build. :drinking:

Nice!  :happy2: :happy2:
Thanks Jay! :notworthy:

 :happy2:

Thanks Biano!  :happy2:

It's got also MFSW with DSG paddles, highline cluster, climatronic, RNS-510 version A (from factory), CD box in the armrest compartment, bluetooth (needs upgrade to work with current smartphones) and rear parking sensors.

I'll open a new project when I sort the little bits that I don't like much.

Yours just doesn't have the same engine. Other than that it's a beautiful machine too. :happy2:

A bit more than that....
Most probably I will have an engine swap sometime but my car will, unfortunately, never be a GTI  :sad1:

Very nice that the Diesel one is still in the family  :happy2:.

Forgot to update this project. Almost a month ago had enough time to do the last bits on my list.

So it got:
  • Rear brake discs: DBA 2811S of 253 mm
  • Rear brake pads: Ferodo DS Performance FDS1083 of 52,9 mm
  • Paint all calipers black, Golf R20 style
  • Refurbish the front calipers
  • Fit the R20 front caliper clips

I'll need to wash it properly before taking new pictures. Behind the Omanyts the brakes are very discrete painted black.

Renewing my rear brake system made the Golf brake more leveled. It was sinking the front end a lot before. I didn't know the fault was in used brake discs and pads. :surprised: I like it a lot at the moment.

Lets see what the Brembo 18Z and R32 rear setup will do in the Eddie.

This car has continued to be my daily driver since my Ed. 30 has been at my mechanic's shop for the last 4 and an half months.

Last week it was booked for a roof, bonnet and front spoiler respray and wind shield replacement. I was given a 2013 BMW 116d Sport during the repair time which I won't miss (low engine power, very soft suspension and bad traction on wet roads with its 205/55R16 Michelin Energy Saver tyres) although it easily made good mileage.

Next it will have an oil change and front discs replaced for the 340 mm Brembo Sport of the TTS (10,1 kg), because I've warped a little my 345 mm ATE (12,1 kg).

I'll ask my mechanic to check if there's any mechanical reason for the discs to get warped so soon (1 year and just a bit more than 10k miles) because I don't remember doing anything that would provoke this.

Today I had the chance to take a couple of pics to show the resprayed bonnet and repaired front spoiler.

At the end of the day I went to meet a friend who recoded the EEPROM of my door modules to activate the folding of the side mirrors with the car key and their automatic opening when turning on the ignition. No need to replace factory fitted door modules. :jumping:

Next week I should be able to do this to the Ed. 30 too.

Thanks! Both my Golfs have the same door controllers: 1K0 959 701 N (1K0-959-701-MAX3.lbl).

n4s can also code any Golf mk6 door controller and personalize the opening with coding the BCM.
