Having Trouble - GTI

Hi everyone not been on here for a long time - Finally got my GTI from a forum member on here in Dec

Car runs perfectly its a dream to drive

the last month or two I have been having issues with the car - the car electrics seem to be drained when I don't drive the car for a few days

I bought a new battery but the same problem persists so I have been having to jump start the car with complete strangers after being stranded

I'm thinking it could be the alienator? but was wondering if theres anything that could be draining the battery that I don't know about

its a very high spec GTI stage one rem app. not much of a mechanic so thought would ask you guys before I get done over at the garage.

What stero unit are you running?

Could be the alternator but i'd imagine there would be a warning light on the heads up display if it was so my next victim would be the headunit.. If your running a 3rd generation unit like the RCD310 / RCD510 / RNS 510 without the necessary CAN Gateway in the car even when not in use will still be running the power from the headunit causing the battery to drain..

Use search function to find out how to find your CAN Gateway then check the part number to make sure you have to correct updated CAN to support your Headunit if you are running a 3rd generation headunit that is..
