Adding Speed Cameras to RNS 510

Hi guys,

The VW garage updated me from V9 maps to V10 maps by accident (yes, I know.. what?!) and due to this I've lost my speed cameras which were already installed when I bought the car. I've done some searching and am aware the speed cameras are a POI that you add yourself. I found this guide while searching how to do this: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2092.0.html
but that guide requires you to own a copy of the map disc; which I do not.

Is there a way of adding them via memory card which I've missed during my searching?

Your v9 maps would have had the POIs added in, hence lost whilst being upgraded. I know newer firmware/maps (can't remember which) allow you to add as personal POI via memory card. Might depend on your version of the RNS.

Ah that would make sense then. It's frustrating as I never asked them to update my maps 
I found a .db3 file off gpsunderground and it has instructions to add from memory card, but I've just come back from outside because I'm getting the message 'SD Card Error'. I have absolutely no idea why I'm getting this error, this is the same memory card I've used in the unit for the past year, and I literally just copied the .db3 file to it 5 minutes a go, so the card itself is working fine.

IIRC the firmware have to be okay for you to add it from memory card. Have a quick look on my-gti and it looks like only the latest firmware allows you to do this.

That would make perfect sense as to why the speed cameras were originally added from an altered V9 maps, because my firmware is 0900 as it's a version B unit. Looks like VW are going to have to dig deep to sort this out for me, as I never requested this "upgrade"
