Ipad Films for flights and holiday
« on: September 03, 2014, 01:45:52 pm »
Looking for recommendations for films that are funny and suitable for me and the wife

Rentals are preferred so i don't clog up the ipad !

Have got Wolf of wall Street and Captain America for the plane .

Having not had rentals before what happens when they have been watched over the 48hr period or go over 30 days ? Do they just disappear ?

A bit specific or in this case non-specific. I mean if you and your wife are the type of folks who think nothing of dropping the car keys in a bowl already full of car keys... well, lets just say there will be many, many films suitable for you and your wife!

Philomena has a good story and Two good performances From the Central characters.
Robert Redford All is Lost also worth a watch.

Wolf of wall street
The Fighter

Ted - might need cheering up
Friends with Benefits - if you get bored

Watched a few like that where the film is pretty good until it gets to the ending. Warrior is another one, as is Source Code.

Right then .... New Holiday flights coming up so two more films required ... Loved Big Fish and also chose Captain America last time... So what do you reckon this time , suitable for me and the wife ... Thinking about Paul and A place beyond the pines as reserves ... Obviously have to be available via itunes for the ipad
Thanks

I enjoyed Paul. Not one I had ever considered but caught it on TV a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good. Easy to watch and some good laughs. Solid 7/10.

Ditto. Didn't like Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz etc, so wasn't too hopeful, but it was pretty good and a lot funnier than those other put together. TPBTP is good, too, not what you expect from the summary and trailer, as there's a good twist in the middle. More recently I enjoyed The Equalizer and recently watched Captain Phillips which was bloody excellent.

If you have a Google Play account, too, they've got a movie sale on at the moment. It's always worth having an account anyway, as films can often be cheaper on there compared to iTunes.

Bit left field but have you seen Long way down and Lond way round with Ewan McGregoe and Charlie Boreman. My wife and I recently watched them again on Netflix and really enjoyed them.
