Great looking 'rocco Jay - looks to be in great condition - would never have guessed the miles on it!
Look forward to your future progress on the car

Looks great, nice choice! Incidentally I'm also in the process of changing my GTI for a diesel due to increased work mileage and these are on my radar...

Very nice :happy2:. If it ends up being anything like your GTI, then it'll be awesome

It's going to be very different to my GTI..  :innocent:

Neat, I've always liked these, be interesting to see how it develops.

Cheers dude. Same here. Not sure what I'm doing exactly with it yet...

I want one of these, with this spec, in the same colour.  Jealous isn't quite the word at the moment haha

I'll be following this closely to see how unfolds, shame you couldn't transfer the air equipment straight across.

I only paid £8k for it as well hahaha  :P
All the bits would transfer but I don't want another bagged car.

Wow, didn't see this one coming Jay, looks lovely!

To be honest, neither did I!!! All happened very quickly..

Diesel fwends again! (though you're a little less agricultural sounding). She's a beaut

"fwends".

 :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:

Very nice! They are cool looking cars!

Cheers pal :)

Very nice

All these need is to be lowered and they look epic

Will be happening soon...  :scared: :scared:

Scene points dropped: 9338439432182382

Must get air and stretched wheels ASAP  :scared: :surprised: :scared: :surprised: :scared:

(looks a lovely spec in all honesty dude, look forward to seeing it develop. I think you'll agree in time that engine is one of the best all rounders on the market today  :happy2: I'm 25k miles in and it's very well rounded)

:signLOL: :signLOL: I was never scene anyway, I'm not a prettyboy and I don't wear chinos. I'm fat and eat a lot of cake.  :fighting2: :fighting2:
I do really like it, much better than I did my GTI when I first got that... got a feeling I'll keep this for a while.

Very want, much jealous :(

wow.

My favourite colour in rocco's!

Rising blue, a lovely colour... like Mandys except this has swirls on it haha  :ashamed:

Great looking 'rocco Jay - looks to be in great condition - would never have guessed the miles on it!
Look forward to your future progress on the car

Exactly! That's a good thing, there are a few little marks but nothing serious.. and nothing easily rectifiable.

Looks great, nice choice! Incidentally I'm also in the process of changing my GTI for a diesel due to increased work mileage and these are on my radar...

How are you finding the Manual after having a DSG?

I drove my partners car from time to time and moving cars about at the unit I never really lost the feeling of a manual. It's nice though.. having something for your leg to do and something hard to wiggle in your hand.

looks good mate, you defo keeping both motors?

No, I could afford it but the Golf isn't nice enough to warrant being a full on show car; and I did have to refinance to buy the Scirocco (as it was so cheap) and I'd quite like to not have the debt over my head  :signLOL: :signLOL: so it's being split & sold to recoup the cost  :happy2:

Currently for the Scirocco I have the following sat about ready to be fitted early October...

- H&R Springs
- Powerflex front wishbone bushes
- Superpro Ball Joints
- Recaro Buckets
- Audio build (Rockford Fosgate sub, Hertz ESK163L speakers, sound deadening)

And once my Air Ride has sold, I'll be getting TTRS/DB9 calipers, with 340mm J Hooked Discs and braided lines (or an alternate big brake setup).
It's also booked into Darkside Developments on the 21st of November...

Nice car for the money.......but do tell, what's it going to Darkside for?

TTRS/DB9 brakes......great set up but if I were to do it again I'd buy standard pads for normal day 2 day!

Nothing really fancy to be honest.
DPF/Cat/EGR Removal, 3 inch pipe to center section and the stage 2 mapping.
Alex will be making me up the remaining section also in 3 inch for a full TBE.

Fitted my newly refurbished wheels back on on Friday and swapped the Recaros over (which are not in the picture below!)
Have a "small" issue as the pins are different I presume the heated seats are now on permanently regardless of whether the car is on or off so after having a flat battery I have unplugged them for now which has fixed the issue - When we tackle the audio we'll check the pin outs and go from there.

Tomorrow all manner of modifications will occur!

I thought you were getting rid of your Recaro seats as they gave you back ache? Also, what trim are those in, not R32 guise..?

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Looking good.

Thanks matey!

I thought you were getting rid of your Recaro seats as they gave you back ache? Also, what trim are those in, not R32 guise..?

Nah, I realised that it was my fault for sitting like a scenester.. in the Rocco they seem a lot better due to the overall driving position anyway.
Will see how they go but otherwise I can't see what I'd replace them with... only things are Recaro Pole Positions.. but I'm wanting to have harnesses and a half cage at some point and a rear bench brace, as the rear seats are pointless.

Getting busy with things...

To do...

H&R Lowering springs
Superpro camber adjustable ball joints
Powerflex wishbone bushes (front and rear).

Pressed the old bushes out (which were in good condition to be fair, perfectly usable considering 115k on them!)

New Powerflex ones in...

Unfortunately the alignment ramp was stuck up so couldn't track it, the next morning I drove to get it tracked after 10-15 miles of driving to make sure everything was bedded in and gave a quick check to make sure nothing had come loose, all good...

Here's alignment printout.

Was total of 23.9 degrees of toe out! Crazy. No wonder the tyres were squealing on roundabouts and what not.
But much better now.
With the Superpro ball joints I'm now rocking -2 degrees of front camber which really helps the driving experience, as well as looking good.

My mate Jason was very kind and without him I'd have been completely stuck. Fitting any polybush is a pain in the arse but these Powerflex ones were faaaaar more difficult. The grease they provide you with is pointless and once the bushes are in they are so stiff and tight you have virtually no movement to make things line up.
Also do have to thank Alex as well for some late night words of advice.

But once they're in, and aligned, wow, it drives awesome! :)
