Mtech 310mm grooved discs, Pagid OEM pads.

Alex (at AKS Tuning) made me a bead rolled link pipe to connect between the MAF housing (the MAF doesn't come out of the housing like it does on the PD engines... I will see if I can use a PD maf sensor).

I had bought the heat shield from Forge Motorsport a while ago. And Alex got me a Revo filter (used in their TFSI intake systems).

Considering how many cheap diesels will be on the market since the whole Dieselgate Scandal, getting ahead of the game and setting the trend can only be a good thing. I have to be honest, I will soon be moving to Somerset and if I need to get a more practical daily then a diesel will be the way ahead so knowing there's support for tuning is good.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

I'm not entirely sure the "dieselgate" will effect values to be honest. i've certainly not noticed any significant drop in values
Tax class is not changed. Economy/performance is not affected (often they produce more power than claimed). the fixes are software tweaks only...it's not going to suddenly ruin the car... most people i have spoken to (of course this is not 100% of the public opinion) don't actually give a crap

Maybe in America when they like sueing everyone over everything  :signLOL: :signLOL: i think in the states they are giving each VW owner a $500 card to use..

It's just not a common tuning platform which is why i enjoy it, i have some great friends and people who have helped and are supporting the build (like alex and bobby and the guys at darkside) ... maybe after my whole air ride samey same BS i wanted to buck the trend  :phew:

VW USA offered $500 in a gift card and $500 in dealership credit. In Europe has anyone received anything?

Not heard of anything in Europe.
I disagree with a lot of the points on the article, but Americans will be Americans.
I wouldn't say no to being given £750 for example but I'm not going to sue them lol.

Recently was with my dad while he was getting a new passat i spoke to the dealer on how/if it affected anything for them, supposedly it has not affected sales could just be bs.. but he did say that any of the fixes they put forward are not compulsory so if you dont care then just leave it.

Sales seem to be as good as ever. I don't think the general public really care aside from the ones who cry BS on social media.

Thanks RBS I appreciate the comment. :)

Been a bit busy lately.
Not all car related.

I stripped and rebuilt the brakes on my bike, they were shockingly bad, no confidence in them.

20160509_194819 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Had a fun time bleeding them through, bodged together a primitive vacuum using bits of hose, a one way valve and my own mouth providing the suction (used to that). new ebc HH sintered pads in so will bed those in and hope that she stops well.
the lever is a whole load better, taking the bike to work tomorrow so will find out for sure then.

finally got my R bumper back from paint. although when I went to fit it, turned out it was a completely different shade. so it had to be re-done. I dropped the whole car off today.
This was from yesterday at Dubs in the Park with my friend Ben and another guy who was on the same club stand as me.

The LED lights work but I'm having an issue with the CANBUS system getting confused because the indicators and side lights are kind of sharing one circuit. So while outside all the lights flash fine, on the dash the indicators click at double speed (like there is a bulb out) - it's annoying - so we are going to look into fixing it. But that can wait for now.
