Edit: - Hi... thanks to the unique way in which Facebook/Imageshack hosted their images some of the pics are not working.
If you specifically want pictures of something let me know and I can sort it out.. using Flickr from now on..
Some say that it's not a Golf, and that it's even a GTI.
Well, they'd be right. Got myself a Scirocco CR170 (DIESEL
) for a bargain and with my work and personal commitments I am doing nearly 40k a year for the moment.
It's basically top spec with everything (literally) aside from Sat Nav. ACC chassis control, Xenons, Fiscon Bluetooth, heated full leather, MDI kit, etc etc.
The air and what not is all transferrable from my old GTI, but the only thing I'll be keeping is the seats and the uprated Hertz door speakers and my subwoofer. Everything else will be a "start from scratch" affair.
The first night I got the car (which was Tuesday) I had a play around with VCDS and got needle sweep working (although initially it appeared to be not configurable) also enabled alarm beeps (gives a very cool sound much nicer than the usual Golf Mk4/Mk5 chirp) and messed around with the car getting it all set up how I wanted it like coming home lights which the previous owner had disabled.
I put my LED number plate bulbs in from the Golf as well so they're super bright as one of the bulbs had blown.. (I have another set on order so I'll swap them over when I get them) - Currently the Golf is being kept in a secure location where it will stay aside from shows and the odd meet.
Tonight I washed and decontaminated the paintwork (covered in tar spots) and gave it a quick coat of sealant which is just to make the car easier to dry more than actually protect it - which will do for now until I have a chance to detail it properly with Cquartz. The paint has some swirls but it's not that bad to be honest.
At the unit we're so busy lately and I have already promised "the mrs" that I would do her car this month some point so that takes priority over mine. Wheels are needing a refurb as well which I got thrown in so just a case of taking them off...probably do it when I do the detail if I'm honest.
Bodywork wise it's pretty clean aside from a small dent in the passenger door and a couple of scuffs on the bottom of the bumper.
Here are some "post wash" pics.
