"More Torque spikey"........ Do you know, without going in yours I have nothing really to compare it to (other than my old PD140 Golf) but I had thought it feels smooth and linear.
So much so that when I first drove the car I wondered if the ECU flash had been successful. Only after a few days did I realise the difference it had made and that most of the change is 2500rpm and up!!!!
Plus I'm sure it's got even quicker over the 2 weeks I have had it done.

In the new year I will definitely get the downpipe and probably a front anti-roll bar but I will be really looking forward to see what happens with your Turbo kit!!!

Haha anything will feel linear compared to a PD engine.
It made the difference noticeable straight away as we went out before and after obviously. Although my Dad sads over time he thinks it's getting better. Alex said over a couple of weeks it would improve as the car adjusts itself slightly!

Those are some great plans mate, i'd get front and rear bars, compliment each other well or you end up with more understeer

 :happy2: :happy2:
Nice, yes you can hear the H/C or Popcorn limiter in the video, I think that sounds great. There's a Leon Fr CR170 on youtube with what he reckons is running 254hp so I dropped him a msg to ask what he's running etc, it sounds similar to yours now actually.

You're obviously running DPF delete but is that EGR delete too, or not on our engine? I know EGR delete is popular on the 3.0 TDI engines.

The power you talk of sounds interesting
I remember in PVW a while back there were two scene Ibis white A3's (same shape as mine) featured. One was a 1.6 TDI but the 2.0 TDI (140ps IIRC) was re-turbo'ed to about 290hp, or so the owner claimed, as they do - but that would be about right given what you can do with fuel pumps and different railing etc from what Darkside & Alex reckon, I suppose?  :happy2:

Cool vid anyway, keep them coming as you add more and more

I think i've seen that guy while looking, somewhere in estonia or something like that? bit of a diesel meccha some of the stuff that comes out of there.
Yes that includes EGR delete, even has picture of it on one of the last few pages hehe.
No way they would get 290 unfortunately, not unless they had fuelling upgrades. The engine can do it but needs the uprated fuelling, if only it were as easy as PD injectors..

That system is beautiful.. Those tips  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

thanks mate! eurojet is lovely haha

@xjay1337, with Stage 2, do you still have the built in ESP/XDS rev limiter that helps with launch control in first gear, where it holds it at around 2600 RPM? I don't wanna lose that if I get a Stage 2 map

I don't think it's a rev limiter or related to the ESP or XDS, it only applies at stationary, with traction control on and limits revs to 2500. as soon as you're moving it does freely rev up although i don't often do hard launches to save my oem clutch. but yes it still holds. you can bypass it by turning off ESP.

Only just  noticed this fella  :ashamed:

I'm having Alex sort out my clutch issues - can't get into 1st or out of reverse easily when car is hot. Thinks something is up with the clutch hydraulics - made worse by having the Helix clutch  :sad1:

Nothing exciting going on with my motor for a while  :indifferent:

Your Rocco is coming along nicely, kinda makes me wish I'd kept mine and stuck a bigger turbo on it

haha how dare you!!!!!
that's a bit weird, i'm sure he'll sort it out anyway. maybe just needs a bleed or even a simple linkage re-adjustment.
do something exciting. i spy a set of bolt on arches :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:
it's okay, i will just turbo it for you  :notworthy:

5k turbo kit for 240hp? Or did i read that wrong

Not quite
The turbo is capable of well over 300bhp.
However currently the limitations with stock fuel pump and injectors mean that you can only get a realistic 240-250 (bearing in mind this is on Darksides dyno where 240bhp is actually about 270bhp on AMD's dyno  :signLOL: :signLOL:)
so it's more of an investment long term. i want to be tracking the day but still having it suitable as a daily driver

That's all inclusive of fitting and also includes new paddle clutch, flywheel, uprated intercooler, pipes, etc.
It's not that much really.
I should have just gone straight to GTB kit rather than do my half-level of tune

Thanks.
Already have an H&R rear ARB which was fine on standard power but now the power has gone up I feel it needs the front ARB too!!

I think it's DPF protection but it comes as part of the ESP/XDS is what I meant, cause yeah disabling them removes the limiter.
A mate who runs DPF delete on his Ibiza FR 1.6TDI doesn't have it any longer with ESP on, that's why I asked

But thanks for confirming, as I want to keep it. Do you ever use it? I find it really good for the occasional busy junctions in damp or wet surfaces.

Got these through today.

Factory HID's are terrible IMO. Especially compared to my old Golf.
Hoping these Osram Night breaker unlimited improve night time and wet weather driving.

Ahh that's a PD engine Cupra :) so a bit different. They can go to 270bhp on stock injectors.. lucky bugger. Tbh I would have been better going for a PD140 engine but the CR is so smooth and nicer than the PD lumps.
Dunno why the Ibiza matey lost it, perhaps it was removed as part of the mapping process! It's a good little launch control aid to be honest, it holds about 8psi of boost when it's built up on the soft limiter at 2500. I've been going on at Ryan to sort me out with a proper launch control setup, but on these CR engines it's very difficult apparently.

ideally i'd want something like this when in first gear with ESP off.

0-10mph limits to 2500rpm
10-20mph limits to 3750
above this, no limit

My friends Cupra R got mapped at rtech on Stage 2 and made 330bhp and they've put a hardcut limiter with the ESP it seems, when it triggers traction control it doesn't cut the power just pops against what feels like a limiter, that's pretty cool.

Yup, gets my vote.
They are not very blue though........... they look like an uprated halogen bulb once they have reached full temperature, so no longer a match for my LED sidelights.

That being said I bought them to provide me with the best lighting on the road, not the best look on the car.

Although retrospectively i would probably go for the Osram CBI (cool blue intense or something) which are rated at same lumen output but a higher colour temperature.

Got a small delivery today from the lads up north...

The intercooler itself, and these two lower Intercooler hoses will be going on in February, along with my new clutch and flywheel. The rest of the pipework will be going on when the turbo kit is fitted in a months time.

Just had it dyno'd as well at another local place.

Did broadly the same figures, about 10bhp difference.
201 / 203 bhp
346 / 384 ft lb

at the crank, at the wheels on both runs it did 190bhp and 325 and 358 ft lb respectively.

Flat bhp similar to the darkside map sooo... happy with that for another month lol

It just about fits.  The Golf exhaust sits slightly to the left.

Cheers Alex. So only worth it if you find a bargain really. Probably just going to go with a BCS system.
