"Race car" with subs and amps ....... I don't get it , you shouldn't even have a radio

I do 30k+ a year.
Why ruin a car that I drive daily.

Honestly i think LSD will be a waste of money. Ive been running mine without, and providing you have decent tyres you wont need one (esp. as a 95% based road care)

Completely disagree with you.  A diff should be one of the first mods to do.  Its fantastic.  When I use the vRS the diff is used at nearly every corner.  If I could get one for the van then I would do it in a flash (if I had time!).

Leads me to ask how many cars you have driven with an LSD?

Only one to be fair and that was an edition 30 stage 2+ manual. 100% agree with anyone seriously hitting the track, but for road use it would be redundant 99% of the time. And given the high cost it's just not something that I see as giving return for money.

I'm not disrespecting you Rich, but the same argument could be said of any modification. I mean, I stick to speed limits which means 80% of my modifications are wasted so it begs the question of why we modify anyway.

I have found a few twisty B roads that are national limit and I'd say an LSD would make those twisty roads more fun. But I've never had an LSD equipped car so my opinion is kind of void... For now...

When Alex picked me up in his Octy it did feel awesome.
I think at UD when he was showing off his awesome WMI installation, I heard him say that next time I'm up there I could have a go myself and give it a try... my mind may change if it's really that amazing.

TBH I did a VXR power event last year, Corsa VXR clubsport, astra vxr and insignia VXR. The insignia hideously understeered where as the Astra and Corsa, both with diffs, held whatever line I wanted them to. that being said the insignia is a much heavier beast. Time will tell.

Have spoken to Darkside regarding lowering my rev limit, they also say there's a new file for my car which should make even more power! So they need my car again for a few days, will just need to sort out when! :)
Ryan also got a video of my car so he said he will upload it and send me the link :)

Also have a trackday on the 23rd of June, VXR day so get to blat round in other peoples cars for an hour at Thruxton, yay.

Bummer! Was the first show I was looking forward to really, much prefer the "action" shows.
Think I will be at EE, I'm not driving though. Going up in Manda's car. CBA to waste double the fuel money for a scene show.
I'll be the fat one with a camera.

Over the moon! Was chatting to Ryan at DsD and he said he was happy with the times too!

I'm doing a rear seat delete next week and I'm going to look at finding a set of slicks or hard core track tyres to run for drag events. I'm confident with a bit of removed lard and some sticky tyres we can get a mid 13. Could have gotten a 13.8 or 13.9 if I nailed the launch and the wind wasn't so strong, think a 2second 60ft time could be in reach.

Just like last year... :signLOL: I may not attend as I've put many miles under my feet already this week and fancy some more action shows this year myself. I've been looking at Bedford Autodrome a bit lately...

Ummm okay so with a lot of help from my mate Jairm we got around to doing the rear seat/bench delete.

Started by clearing out the boot... someone's obviously had a Christmas tree in the boot .

20150422_200159 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Got it all in the front and took it home.

20150422_200221 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

All in my car from drag racing.. think of the weight saving  :signLOL: :signLOL:

3 sheets of MDF

20150422_215659 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Stripped all the interior off.

20150423_101233 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Left us with this.

20150423_103014 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Jairm started doing the Hi-Low converters (needed 2) and the rest of the wiring, and I got on with sound deadening.

20150423_132940 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Drilling out the standard speakers.

20150423_141335 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Replaced with the Hertz DSKs in the back. Plastic welded the tweeters in place.

More progress with the false floor.

20150424_115401 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

An old sub box that Jairm had lying around. He decided to make use of it for this project,  just making some adjustments

20150424_120014 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

While this was going on, I wanted a personal touch so I made out a Fat Bear Photography logo.

20150424_172104 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Although this isn't going on at the moment, need to buy some more appropriate fabric.

Jairm doing some more trimming.

20150424_173529 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Things starting to look a little more finished now..

20150424_172240 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

Jairm sorted me out with a 12 inch sub as my 10 inch looked a little bit lost, plus fitted the box... result. As it's brand new, needs bedding in still.

20150424_185801 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

And here's a sort of finished picture.

20150424_190136 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr

We ran out of time as we were both working on cars over the weekend... so there's a little bit more to do, around the edges, but it's pretty much there.
Got a few little niggles with the wiring and what not, and need to sort out the amp settings but in time that will come. Very happy with the end result :)

Looking good!

Wish i could ditch the rear seats and put my sub there. Since i'm only running the fronts and the sub is right in the back it sounds a little off.
