Got the AC rad and crash surround sorted out yesterday night.
All stripped down.
You can see where the AC condensor was damaged and it punctured the core.
Luckily, the Intercooler was totally unmarked, and so was the water radiator. Although the IC wasn't damaged where it had bent/damaged/distored the AC condensor my intake temps were taking longer to recover and this seems to have been resolved now so I'm really happy about that as they're back to speedy recovery.
Put a new AC condensor on, pain to fit with the IC being so fat. Don't remember how alex did it so easily before.
New crash panel thing went on as well, so that was fun (not) getting everything to line up, but once it was done, you couldn't tell.
Only thing is I lost all my OEM stickers now :( so going to look at putting some cool racekor stickers on there instead.
Also had an issue where my coolant fan was catching on the boost pipe which was stopping it spinning, saw my temperature was rising a bit quickly for my liking (stayed at 90 on the gauge) but the polar was going slowly up past 90 which it never does, and smelt an electrical smell, which turned out to be the fan.
Did a bit of tweaking on the boost pipe which has now given me the clearance I needed so it spins freely.
Only thing left to do is re-gas the air con and enjoy the cooling breeze in my face rather than turbocharged hot air.
Did give the bonnet a bit of a polish, it wasn't too bad considering it came from spain (pablo got a bit happy with a machine polisher) but I just gave it a gentle polish and tried a coating we've had sat around for a while but haven't used.. migliore strata coating,
Not very impressed with it TBH so far, harder to apply than CQUK, very streaky... But we'll see how it lasts.
