Personal opinions on intake and any advice
« on: September 04, 2014, 07:25:38 pm »
Been hunting around recently for an intake as I got a bit of money to spend just now, but I seem to be going in circles and getting nowhere!

All the forums seen to be revo related and I'm not wanting to waste money when all I had to do was get the right answer from the right person! Guessing this is the holy grail to GTI knowledge  :notworthy:

First of all I currently have a 05 Gti with a k03, it has a full stainless decat with a non res miltek box, on the induction side I only have a standard box with a k+no drop in filter, before I go intercooler I figured getting more air was more important than trying to cool half the amount of air I could potentially have! I got it mapped at r-tech so it's all running fine and dandy just now and once I have whatever I buy I'll have it redone by r-tech!

Basically I want to know what people think is the best intake on the market not worrying about a price or anything, cause I'm caught between the twintake system and the revo technik race system! There's probably loads more out there and I just a need pointed in the right direction from people experiences and/ power gains

I currently have an 05 k03 with a twintake, it made some decent gains with it and I love the way that it looks but its commonly known its probably not the best intake out there but tbh there's not so much difference between intakes on the k03 compared to k04 cars. Nobody has put a car on the rollers and tested all the intakes back to back to see which one is really the best so tbh its very difficult to get a straight answer, from what I've read revo, itg, evoms are highly rated most of the time.

I got ITG it's huge and sucks like a pro

Butttt if I had to choose again I might of gone for one with a solid pipe as there are lots of
parts and clamps to the ITG setup.

REVO.

I've had a few different kinds and IMO it's the best.

Evoms is a brilliant intake at a good price but doesn't look that special. The Revo is better and looks superb but comes with a hefty price tag. I've had both and the only reason I swapped to the Revo was that I got it at a fraction of the list price.

You can't beat the revo ceramic for aesthetics as well as performance! Nice, clean, smooth one piece etc with great gains. Oh and the noise
