For you mountain bikers on here…
« on: September 07, 2014, 01:12:03 pm »
If you haven't been I suggest a trip to BikePark Wales, borrowed a bike yesterday and had a really good time. It’s by far the best trail centre I’ve been to yet!

The rental

A quick clip of me doing a jump

good jump!

make sure you give your bike a good drink of water, a dog bowl will do the trick and it will serve you well over the jumps!

It seemed expensive at the time but if I where you I would book the uplift to maximise your riding time, really wish we had but as it was a rushed trip when we checked it was all booked up.

Cheers dude and haha wanted a pic under the sign and couldn't be bothered moving the bowl… I’m glad I didn't take my bike though as I pushed the limits of the rental. Which I went on to break and had to pay for the privilege!

I bet! I need to get back there asap before the bad weather arrives... In regards to what to ride I went on the site, learnt the names of the different runs and then went on good old YouTube. If you like jumps though Enter The Dragon was ace but to be honest I even enjoyed some of the easier blue runs, just because of the sheer speed you could carry through them! Basically there is something for everyone :happy2:

I've been there a few times. Rim dinger is pretty good. You can pay the drivers for uplift even if your not booked on. It's £4 each

Yh that and Willy Waver where good fun! We did try that but the pass holders got priority (understandably) which meant there was hardly any space on each van... max I saw was two spaces. The lads I went with weren't keen on getting split up, so we manned up and did the climb time after time, as the reward of going back down was well worth it!

I like to pedal up on the first run anyway because I find when doing uplifts I'm getting on the bike cold an I'm out of sorts.

Ha as we had to do the climb every time we used the good old fire roads!

Never a truer word spoken, got a 1 in 3 to break the town here, painful... but worth it. :happy2:

i visited a couple of months back and it was an awesome day out.  If I'm honest I found the runs far better than when I went to the alps (morzine) a year earlier

Got back from BPW last night and it was awesome  :happy2:. Such a good day! Spent a lot of time ripping up the blue runs which are so much fun and properly fast. Anyone thinking of doing it needs to get it done! Make sure to book the uplift tho so you don't lose any time and probably go tubeless if poss. Think we will get another day booked as soon as.
