RHD Black Xenon Look
« on: September 12, 2014, 04:36:20 pm »
Hey,

Is this where people are still buying their xenon lights from[eurowagens]? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Projector-headlights-set-xenon-look-VW-Golf-MK5-Jetta-MK3-04-09-/121360859972?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c41abc344

Or are people using FKperformance?

Was hoping to get a RHD black gti style xenon look ones that don't need a 6 o clock mod, I think the ebay link I have there needs a 6 o clock?

Basically where are people right now buying their RHD Xenon look lights from?

ive got a set of these smoked ones on my car beam pattern is ok once you have them lined up
CONS: the sidelight is where it is on the normal gti and standard golf headlights and you cant adjust them from inside the car only from under the hood with a allen key  :surprised:
PROS:  they have xenon shutters that actually work, and they still use standard plug so no need for a conversion harness

8k 55w Xenons (dont look that blue in reality), and i also turned on sidelight drls @ 20%

Don't know why people are so worried about doing the 6 o'clock mod...it's easy...takes 2 mins each bulb. Done mine with no issues...and trust me I'm no DIY expert....the Eurowagons ones are fine and the sidelights are in the right place.  :drinking:

Ah it's not a massive deal about the 6 o clock, just handier! What I want is the black back and the chrome surface in front of that, basically the same as my current gti lights!

I thought the same thing....until I went for the oem style ones. They look dark anyway..and once you have the HID kit running with the indicator drls you'll forget you even wanted that black surface. (My indicators are at 30% FYI)

Got a 55w 4300k HID Kit to go with...happy days..

Get someone with VCDS to code xenon without shutter and the us  indicator drls....xenons  one of the best mods IMO

For the price difference, I'd go for the above link... I take it the 6 O'Clock mod was required? Better re-read the how to!

It's easy....you just need a dremmel with a metal cutter (£10-£15 on eBay) then cut the metal casing on the bulb into shape so it sits in the bulb holder if you put it in upside down. Think I got my guide from this site actually.

Yep....

Bought these: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=231198370811

Wanted Cree sidelights but they wouldn't fit in the holder...if you have the indicator drls you won't need amazing LEDs anyway...

Pic (sidelights only) doesn't give a true reflection of what they look like but trust me it's worth it..!
