Hi there I'm looking at putting a new head unit in my car would like the rcd 510 but would like the one that has the sat nav but not sure if I can use it with my car I have a golf gti 55 plate any help would be good not very technical

The RCD510 with sat nav is the RNS510 mate. RCD units are simply music based, while the RNS units have sat nav also.

The best atm that I know of is the RNS-510 R version. You can buy an older unit that will be cheaper.
