Clutch and DMF Question
« on: September 15, 2014, 08:13:05 pm »
Hey guys

Got myself MK6 1.6TDI Bluemotion few days ago. Just noticed when I realise clutch pedal revs jump a bit (around 1k rpm) and drops back to normal after realised fully.
Car had new clutch and flywheel about 1 year ago at main dealer.

Is it normal clutch behaviour?

If you're on the accelerator at the same time it may be causing it. Best bet is to drive along, dip the clutch then quickly dump it (maintaining a constant accelerator pedal) and if the revs jump then something's not right. Do it with about 2500rpm going.

What that does is dump a load of torque onto the clutch, which isn't something you should do regularly if you want it to live a long, peaceful life.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Thanks for advice
I am definitely not on accelerator, as it does it on idle parked up. I tried to clutch test with hand brake on and seems to be fine not slipping.
