No Lacquer no White Worm? Alloy product advise pls.....
« on: September 15, 2014, 09:50:13 pm »
I have finally found myself some BBS Monzas that are diamond cut, I bought them 2nd hand and were not in great condition at all. So I have had them sanded and polished and now they look great, am I right in thinking that if I don't lacquer them I wont suffer from the white worm? Can any1 advise me on this theory also of any products you recommend to protect them.?

Thanks peeps Leo  :happy2:

You shouldn't get the white worming but maintaining a non lacquered finish is a bitch, if your going to do that i would get a ceramic sealant like G-TECH C5 or Carbon Collective 'Platinum Wheels' on them and clean with gentle cleaners very regularly and running them in winter is pretty much a no go.

Hmm thanks Dan maybe I should rethink this idea.... Lack of funds has stopped me getting them powder coated, what would happen to them in the winter then if I don't maintain them?

Thanks again  :happy2:

The road salt and all the dirt just deteriorates the finish really, because they haven't got the lacquer there to protect them it doesn't take long for them to start looking shoddy. You'd end up spending a lot of your time polishing them all over again.
