Forum newbie from the North West
« on: September 16, 2014, 09:02:14 pm »
Evening all

Like many newbies, I've been lurking for a while. Now that I have my mk5 on order, I decided to join properly.

I've not had a VAG for about ten years now. However, I have been promising myself another GTi for ages (since the last one!). I started with an 89 mk2 GTi 8v, next was a 90 mk2 GTi 16v. A 90 mk1 cab followed some time after that, which was replaced with an A3. Fair to say I've enjoyed my VAGs.

So I've been keeping an eye open for a mk5 for a while now. I was due to go have a look at one a couple of hours from me, but then saw one advertised my local Vw dealer and thought I'd have a look. There were no pictures as it had come in that day and the advert stated a cloth interior and Pescara alloys. Didn't seen right but it was up the road.

Anyway, I was greeted with a beautiful black GTi DSG, with Monzas and leather. The car was exactly what I wanted, bar cruise control, so I ended up buying it.

It may be a couple of weeks before I can collect, but I can't wait :-)

Dave

Yeah will do definitely!

Looking to leave this one reasonably standard...although it's already having a trip to Awesome GTi for cruise control. We will see if anything else happens to fall onto the car whilst I'm there.

Thanks guys.

I shall let the folks at Awesome take care of the cruise control for £149. You will probably notice over time that I'm not as good a spanner monkey as I'd like to be.

Hahaha hey Wes  :-)

It's got the stalk fitted, just needs coding. Hopefully soon!

You got some pics up yet? Your GTi was looking mighty fine yesterday.
