Hi all

Just thought I would say hello.  I'm looking for a Mk5 Gti soon so seems like a good idea to have a mooch about hereverything.

I've owned a Mk2 Driver, Mk3 Driver,  Mk3 VR6 and currently have a Mk4 Gti.

Have another baby on the way so need something newer with iso fix!

Hopefully you have better luck than me first time round. 

I travelled by plane and train nearly 500 miles to look at a grey GTi i was told was in excellent condition, ticked all the boxes blah, blah, blah.  Got down there and within 2 minutes knew i wasnt buying it.  Guy had lied about service history and condition of car!

I have one I've seen advertised on the net, but its a 3-4 hour drive away - looks ok on advert.  I'd be more than a little annoyed if it wasn't described honestly.

I also saw a Gti advertised on another forum - I checked out the posters posting history.  Its amazing what you can find out by doing that, it brings up all the problems they've had with the car since they bought it.  Needless to say, I won't be going to see that particular one.

Just been looking online for info on the Edition 30. Looks like it's the one to have. Not sure if they are worth the extra over a stranded gti.
