Rtech
« on: September 19, 2014, 12:08:49 am »
interested in getting a stage2 mao from rtech however in the email they sent, think it and automatic generated one said car needs to be standard ride height? is this true? im from glasgow so wouldnt fancu driving down to be told no. also the car is already stage 2 mapped apparently but was dynod at 249bhp and 256 ftlbs of torque this seems really low, torque particularly, diverter valve changed recently aswell as cam follower so does this seem like an underlying issue giving low figures or the result of a cheap remap?

By saying standard ride height they are covering themselves. So long as its not slammed on its arse then it will be ok.

I spoke to rtech. Mine is lowerd 25mm and they told me that was fine. I did ask as i did get the same message saying it needs to be standard.

From glasgow aswell. Rtech is too far from me. Am using tdi-north as ive used them for my old type r and are arguable the best for the jap cars but they have a partnership with amd now so still a good drive but half the drive than going to rtech lol.

From what i read though rtech are the best.

Yeah all you hear is retch and with revo been around 500 and apr 600 rtech is probably cheaper and get better results even taking into account the 10 hour round trip haha, would just like to find out if there's an underlying issue first before I travel that distance to get dissapointing figures again

If you are worried or suspect issues, get the car health checked first by a local specialist before you drive down there. There's nothing worse than making the journey to be told there are underlying issues that need to be sorted and you'll have to re-book.

Check for boost leaks, make sure your spark plugs are fairly new, fill the tank up with Shell V-Power or Tesco 99RON.  :happy2:

TBH if there are any underlying issues (like a sloppy fuel pump) which is highlighted by the mapping, Niki will map the car to the capabilities of the hardware.  so its unlikely that a car that drives fine as standard will go home without being mapped
