Unfortunately there's one junction near my home which is onto a fast main road and so which usually needs me booting it to get out safely. But I avoid that route if I can just because my oil would barely be warm enough.
I know how you feel. When I lived down south, there was a DC close to my house. It became a skill to accelerate quickly enough without engaging the turbo.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

....

stealth, re the digital DIS you describe in your Reply #20, I can get the speed but not the oil temperature. The speed matches my GPS system display but is occasionally a gnat's arse ahead of it - Not enough to make it worthwhile as a replacement.

And the whole display resets when you switch off the ignition.

I'd love to know how to get the oil temperature displayed.

But as per reply #22, I did say I wasn't sure whether it was right or not. Remember, as I stated, the information available seems to be everything the climatronic unit needs to function, not just all information and oil pressure/temp would not affect the function of the climatronic control.
