Climate control temps for winter

Minus 3 degC this morning for me!! 

There is a temp at which AC ceases to work and you may as well turn it off.  Forget what it is but its about 4 degC.

The cold weather has certainly reminded me how absolutely useless the Golf is at de-misting itself. Seems to take forever!

Any tips?

And yet it is still quicker than my old fezza. I just hit the demist windscreen button and one-wipe the windscreen.

i have my heated seats on between 3-5 and the heating on around 19-24 depending on how cold i am

I thought th whole idea of climate control is that it basically warms the car up / cools it down accordingly to maintain your chosed temperature. I just keep mine set between 19 - 21 degrees depending on how I feel.
Wifey annoys the hell out of me by whacking up the temperature to max when first jumping into a cold car claiming it will rise the temperature quicker and then backs it off to say 20 degrees whan suitably toasted.

Usually keep mine at 21 and use the heated seats first thing in the morning if I'm cold.

I whack it up to the max and once the car's warm enough, turn it off. Usually find heated seats are enough since I don't like the feeling of gasping for fresh air when the car's too warm.

What is it with you cold types?  Mine is on 19.5 all year round, the aircon comes on when the car mists up or it gets warm outside.

I use the heated seats to take the chill of the leather in the winter, then turn that off.

If you are having issues with the car demisting in the morning, try giving the windscreen a clean.  That helped our car no end as it was quite dirty and the demist was much more quicker afterwards.

Glad I always park in the garage - shouldnt have to bother de-icing the car etc throughout the winter 

Anyways, I rarely use my heated seats TBH.
I always have the car set at 21c - even when Im leaving for work early in the morning.
The car warms up gently and nicely, and the temp is maintained.

Sometimes I may turn it off when Im comfortable - but most of the time I forget and just leave it running to maintain a constant temperature. It also keeps the windows clear of mist.

.........mine lives in the garage as well but after a 12 hr night shift or for that matter a 12 hr day shift this time of year still get the problem with ice/frost steam on the inside etc.
