Yeh, might work out cheaper to get a 7R :signLOL:.

The 6R is rarer and often overpriced on the used market, nice car though.

It's basically a MK5 GTI with 4WD.

So, look out for same things as if you were buying a mk5, and make sure Haldex 4WD has been serviced properly, and works.

Simples :happy2:

Wait a bit longer and go for a PP GTI or 7R.

Thanks guys, I have looked at the 7R, performance wise I'd buy it, but not too keen on the look of it. Plus I'd have to get most extras which would take it to 30+k, defo don't have the cash for that.

Ask on the R forum

Only found that forum yesterday so have been taking a look thanks :)

Well we shall see what happens. My gti has already got a new owner just need to find the right R, no rush :)

Can get 10-12% discount on the Mk7 too. Strong residuals mean it's cheaper on finance than a GTI, unless you were looking at a cash purchase?

Ha I'm 24 with a 20k salary, no chance I'm looking at a cash purchase :p Even with that discount I'm still looking at the high end 20's after adding leather etc surely?  which is out of my budget :/

It would be cheaper to buy a new car on finance than used. Unless you are able to get a cheap rate loan.

Why 23k on a car when your yearly income is so low

You should at least put 40k instead lol
