Nothing wrong with Bluefin. Lots of folks on here highly rate RTech, they give a custom map and certainly know their stuff. AMD and others have their rightful following too.
But for sheer convenience Blufin is fine. It's a safe, if slightly conservative map and certainly works. You can easily do it yourself and remove it should you want to.
I recently helped a mate install it on his GTI (he is not computer literate!).Also, he just does not have the time to make the journey to the Midlands for RTech and wanted more 'grunt' than a standard car. The whole process took us about an hour and instantly the car felt a lot quicker and more responsive. Just like it always should have! I have been driven in and have driven the car and the result was really pleasing. More power if you need it. More torque means less changing down and easy passing. It is smooth and seems to be an even curve. And, providing you are not 'right footing' it everywhere, improved consumption as well.
And yes I've tried an Rtech remap too. Was there a difference? Possibly, but difficult to tell on normal roads. I'm NOT knocking them either!!!!
If you want to go to Stage 2 then def go for a custom remap. Bluefin stage 2 is supposedly not so good. If you want to track day - then custom mapping is probably best.
Just my thoughts - I now await the onslaught .....
