Dsg quick launch question
« on: September 26, 2014, 10:03:57 pm »
How do you dsg guys get a quick launch, say at a busy roundabout and need to pull out quick
There seems to be a little bit of power for a second then boom it goes like the clappers
How do i get a quick pull off without the tiny bit of delay?
Do i need to use launch control every time? Or can i rev it a bit in neutral and then put it into gear?
Or do i just need to push the accelerator down further? Is there a certain amount it has to be pushed, and thers an instant response?
Its only now and then id ever need it but just be nice to know what the quickest launch is

I find if i've been driving miss daisy for a while the dsg gets it wrong next time i try and floor it. So when the kids are not in the car i usually drive in manual mode.

If your in any other gear and need to go quick put the pedal to the floor and this will put you into the lowest available gear.

I know exactly what you mean! I'm pretty sure it has something to do with torque limiting in 1st gear.......if I'm right I think a DSG remap would help!

Need to find out what its had done really, might contact the revo place
What about a few revs in neutral then into D?
Quicker start or broken car?

Would a reset help?
Iv heard you can do a dsg reset with the ignition and brake, has anyone tried it?
Would it be ok to do it with a dsg map?

If you foot is fully planted on the brake there will be a delay for the clutch to engage. Get her creeping and gently hold brake in theory clutch should be engaged ready for action.

bigtop, I think it would be a good start to find out what has been done to your gearbox prior to you owning the car. For a sharpish take-off, just engage s mode.

strongbow, if you find your gear selection a little indecisive while negotiating speed bumps, you can always select manual mode and choose the correct gear for your speed.

Cheers...

I have receipts and paperwork for stage two revo, a dsg map, and a reflash back to stage one
Im guessing if its reflashed back to stage one the dsg map will still be there?
I could do with finding the guy who had it before me and see whats what
