Cleaning mk5 GTI clocks

Hi everyone,
not sure if anyone else suffers with this, but depending on what cloth you use to clean the clocks (speedo, rev counter etc) but sometimes I find you can end up with smears on them.

anyone know the best product to clean these with, I've tried glass cleaner but still not that great.

the best thing I've found so far is the mantis spray and shine, with the actual mantis cloths but you still have to work at getting the faint smears off, hate it when they show smears in certain lights.

P.S - the mantis spray and shine (with the mantis cloths ONLY) is great to go over your car after a wash and shammy, makes your car look new :)

I use Autoglym Fast Glass on my clocks with a new, clean microfibre cloth.

is that Autoglym's normal glass polish?

I use a warm damp microfibre cloth then Gtechniq G5 (you need to TINIEST amount put on without a cloth).
I use the G5 on windows. mirrors and lights   1 bottle will for months
Don't be tempted to put any pressure on the cloth  Easy does it

Nope. Fast Glass is different.

I use Autoglym glass polish - just the smallest amount so it doesn't create lots of dust.
The most difficult thing I find is getting right up to the edges of the bezels - there's always 0.5-1mm left uncleaned.
I've though about cotton wool buds, but maybe a bluntened toothpick in a microfiber cloth might sort it...

Simple, just use warm water on a bit of kitchen towel, use very little pressure, I wouldn't use any product at all

Thanks guys, I'll try damp cloth / kitchen roll and see how I get on (cheapest option) haha

Around the edges of mine were kind of hazy and under the right light it annoys me.

One day I was sitting in traffic at lights that take around 5mins so I got a microfibre cloth and put it on the end of a flat screwdriver 

I went over all the corners that I couldn't normally get to and now my clocks are spotless.

The screwdriver seems dangerous but light hands and some dexterity and you're fine

Autoglym glass cleaner & final wipe with a glass cleaning cloth works well for me. You can get the edges if you fold the cloth right.
