Thinking of putting oem xenon on my gti do i need headlight washers and levelling system to pass the mot? I live in northern ireland.
2007 gti edition 30 with every factory xtra

here in finland we need to pass with retrofitted xenons, but if you pay enough at the MOT you pass it without

Here in Portugal is the same in some MOT. :signLOL:

But any police officer can fine you for having xenons without washers and send the car to a special and more complete MOT. The auto-levers aren't so easy to detect just by looking at a passing by vehicle.

Here in the UK (where the OP is) such systems must work if they are fitted.
If they are not fitted then there's nothing to test.
No-one has been failed for anything other than having an incorrect beam pattern.... (to my knowledge of course)  :happy2:

Are mainland GB MOT rules the same as ours over here in NI?

Also, what's your plan for getting Xenons? Are you thinking OEM or projectors with a HID kit?

Im over here myself,there was a set for sale on here few days ago,go Back a few days and you will see them £400 i think.
would Love a set myself,let me Know how you get on.

would Love a set myself,let me Know how you get on.

There is a set for £500 at the minute with no work required and a set with one of the headlamps cut in 2 (to repaint the inners to black) going for £350.
