It does, cannot fully remember you need to change 1 setting which I did. Really easy mod though

FYI tried fitting these, now I'm not sure if I already had a damaged or weakened pin but I fitted them and the first time I put the boot down the force of the spring being compressed bent one pin that the strut attaches to on the boot lid,  great... This caused a huge gap to form between boot lid and rear quarter... Yes the boot pop worked very well and was pretty impressed in all honesty,  but I didn't want to see it rip the pin off so removed quickly and managed to bend the pin back in line.
In the essence of being impartial, I have always had a weak opening boot so can't be sure if one side had a faulty strut and/or pin that made it perform this way. The theory is spot on, and the trail run I did was impressive. So food for thought.  Cheers

A weak opening? Sounds painful...  :signLOL:

I'm interested in doing this mod, but wondered if you need to have a boot that "pops" already? Mine seems to simply unlock from the remote, not pop... is there a way to change this in VAGCOM / VCDS? I've got a 2005 mk5 DSG GTI AXX
How did she know?

Hmmm I like your thinking Mike. Got a Cromwell store just a mile away from work too. I find the Octavia boot lid a bit heavier than the Golf. I know it's a bigger panel/unit but the dampers don't seem to give it the same assistance. Time for some springs I think.
