Which tyres?
« on: October 04, 2014, 08:46:43 pm »
Just about to order some new tyres, just wondered who has any recommendations? I usually have conti's but I fancy trying something different. What shall I try?!

Continental sport contact 5s

Michelin pilot sports

Goodyear efficient grip

Pirelli P zero

Dunlop sp sport maxx

PSS / AS2 / VUS in that order for both performance and price imo. :happy2:

I use the Goodyear asymmetric 2's and they're fantastic wet and dry, am tempted to give the super sports a try next time though

Pilot Sport 3 and are the only tyre id fit. Super sports are fine but get a bit slippery when it rains.
Frozen White Ford Focus 1.6 Ecoboost Titanium.

My next set will be BF Goodrich's new G-Force Rivals...They are rated higher than Michelin PilotSuperSports overall and cost a few bucks less. I was going to mount Michelin's PSS's before I saw the G-Force Rivals.  :happy2:

G-Force Rivals Test results: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=172

Michelin PSS Test results: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=174

If needing more wet traction than dry...I'd pick PSS, but I seek better dry traction.

That's an interesting read. The wet traction ability of the PSS is very useful in the uk  :signLOL:
