I run Michelin  Pilot Super Sports over the Spring , Summer & Autumn months  and then swap to Winter wheels & tyres when the weather breaks .

Works for me  :happy2:

Yep, good call.  I'd only go for supersports if you also have some cold weather tyres for the winter months.

I've had several sets of Goodyear eagle f1 assy2s - rate them very highly.  I currently have Dunlop Sport Maxx RT based on a recommendation.  Lesson learned - they're ok, but i don't rate them as highly as the Goodyears, and they don't have the sidewall rim protector so SWMBO has wiped my wheel against a kerb ..  Grrrr!

FWIW the EVO test (last month?) put Conti5's in the top spot, although to be honest i doubt theres much between the michelin, goodyear, pirellis and contis - all very good tyres.

I was thinking of getting a set of Conti5s for my future wheels but I'm not sure if they would last as long as the Goodyears Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, that I currently have. In my Golf the Goodyears last near 35.000 miles.

I'd say the Eagle F1's will last longer than the Conti's but for all round performance you can't fault the Conti's, I will be buying a set again for the Mk5 I've recently bought. My father also runs the Conti's on his A4 Avant S-line

Thanks for your feedback. Will think about it as I can get the Goodyears a bit cheaper than the Contis.

I currently have the conti 5's but I'll be changing back to Toyo T1R's, best tyres I've had.

I find the supersports very good on the road and they can put up with some mild track abuse.

I use Uniroyal rainsports on the GTI which are great on damp/greasy roads.

I've just put some more conti's on my gti and I was driving my gf's fiesta st with toyo proxes t1rs on and I feel more confident with the continentals although I think the st handles a little bit better.
