Does the locking work with your other key/fob?

Possibly need the central locking recoded. Although I'd scan with VCDS to ensure the wireless thingy hasn't failed.. also check the battery.
P.S your Boost gauge is on da way :)

Key is sending a signal which suggests battery is fine.
Will get my mate to check on VCD's

Any other ideas gents?
Would it need to be recoded at stealers? As I don't have a spare

Try changing the key fob battery. The LED can flash but there is not enough power to send sufficient signal to operate the car electronics.

Will try that today then, do you just unscrew it then pull it apart?

Have a look on YouTube (how to replace key fob battery vw Golf Mk5) - several good guides on there. Bit fiddly first time but no real problem.
Just off to work - no time to post one now! I'll look later on.
BTW worked for me! Battery is a button cell 2032 if I remember correctly.

If you want, I'll bring the laptop out at the weekend and stick it on quickly :)
