New Head Unit Advice
« on: October 08, 2014, 08:35:35 am »
Morning all!

In the next few weeks Im going to be upgrading from my bog standard RCD 300 to something a bit nicer. Ideally I would like a unit with Sat Nav, iPod connection, Bluetooth and CD/DVD playback. Currently Ive been looking at the OEM VW RNS 510 and also the Kenwood DNX520/521. I know that the Kenwood models would probably work out cheaper due to built in Bluetooth and cheaper iPod connection but am not sure of the pros/cons of the units from a users point of view.
Are there any other models I should be looking at? Im not keen on the Erisin/Veyron RNS copies on Ebay but am open to suggestions on other makes and models. Pictures would be a bonus if you have them.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Ben.

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,19.0.html - Search this board, as it's the dedicated car audio board.

I have the Kenwood, it's pretty good but the inbuilt amplifier powering the speakers could be better.
