From mk4 to mk5 and loving it! I have a question tho..
« on: October 29, 2014, 06:51:03 pm »
Hi All,

Had my 2008 Steel Grey GTI DSG on 18" Monza II's for almost a week now and loving it. I had a silver mk4 1.8T GTI before that and the difference is amazing. Despite the wooly handling I loved my mk4 and had it for almost 10 years. But I think this is going to eclipse it! I had wanted a 3 door but this 5 door came up with a main dealer that I couldn't say no to!

This isn't mine, but it's effectively the same http://goo.gl/VUg1Bi

I do have a question straight off the bat tho.. There are some convenience lighting settings activated, specifically for Coming/Leaving Home and Lane Change indicators. Although I don't specifically want to change the settings, I thought I'd be able to see them somewhere, perhaps along with Driver/All Door central locking settings etc. I don't have the MFD+ (or a multifunction steering wheel), only the standard one. Does this mean the settings are only done by plugging into the car? Pushing the OK/Reset button on the wiper leaver does nothing except swap between memory 1 and 2.

Cheers all!

James.

The functions you want to change will need VAGVOM to be plugged in, or you can kill two birds with one stone and upgrade your cluster to highland and programme it with VAGCOM.
