Anyone fitted the bootlid OEM DAB aerial? Help!
« on: October 10, 2014, 10:27:43 pm »
Hi all

I've fitted an OEM DAB/FM amplifier module from a MK6 Golf in place of the left FM amplifier module in my MY07 GTI in the bootlid

Plugged into the double fakra socket is the original connection (from the beige fakra connector) and a 6m fakra coax cable plugged into the DAB aerial socket on my RCD310.

FM and AM all working fine (ANT1 and ANT2 shown 'ON' in service menu), however DAB is reporting no signal and ANT1 shows OFF on the service MENU.

Have I connected it up correctly or am I missing anything obvious...?

Be interested to hear if anyone has been successful with this!

Thanks in advance

Thanks - that's the guide I followed to install. Only thing I can think is either the 6m fakra cable is dodgy or my dab aerial socket on the RCD is dodgy for it not to detect an aerial

Seems odd that you're still getting FM / AM from the original connection though? Multimeter time.
How did she know?

Sorted! Turns out the right angle fakra connector on the dab cable wasn't making a connection with the centre pin on the dab socket on the rcd 310. Tightened it up by pushing the centre contacts in with a fine needle on the right angled fakra plug so it fit snugly.
