Wing Mirror replacement ED30 after getting smashed off.

Hey guys,

Just had some old Tw@t in another golf side swipe my car and take my mirror clean off by swerving onto my side of the road. 

Nothing happened to his mirror except a crack in the glass, ill add picks below of my new skeleton mirror.

Anyway, I got details and the make model and all that, but for a mirror it shouldnt be that much should it?

All the plastic housing has gone and its an electrical heated mirror with motor etc, but should i look into having that checked? The reason i ask is because insurance excess will probably be silly to look at..

How much am i looking at if I take it to VW and try for a quote?

Any other input is great at this point as I am Fukcing FUMING!!!

Have a look on ebay for a replacement mirror and use that as a donor. I expect the wiring will be ok, just need a new indicator and clam shell.

Wiring looks good, cracks all around it though, everything looks good apart from plastics.

I Take it its the first letter ad then the last three that make up the colour code they have used on that mirror. LY3D?
