Anyone have DC5 integra experience?
« on: October 12, 2014, 08:56:38 pm »
I know less torque and high revs

But dc2's were suppose to be one of the best fwd and so dc5 the bigger brother isn't that bad I assume

Anyone owned one?

Closest I got was a couple of Civic Type R's. The "teg" was the cream of the type-R crop, especially in Championship White.

Such a good car, wish I'd tried one

Thanks

I won't be using for long commutes so not too much of an issue

Would be interesting to hear previous owners views

But i imagine many stay Japanese or VAG and not switch between lol

Never owned a DC5 but have had a few various Type R's. The DC5 Is a great car so I've heard. Refined when driving normal but also a hooligan when u Rev it hard. Handles well and comes well specced from factory, 4 pot brembos, Recaros etc...

Defo worth a try and good power can be made with a few choice bolts one and K PRO

A good friend of mine owned a (rare) facelift version, imported of course. He had a few things done to it... Mugen twin-loop exhaust, hondata ECU, gruppe M CAI.. it went like stink, handled like it was on rails and sounded amazing!

He's still kicking himself for selling it to buy a house  :jumping:

my experience as a passenger.. the standard bucket seats were modelled for a 17 year-old Japanese boy's frame, so if you're of the larger build, you may need to change seats

Never owned a dc5. Had a civic type r ep3 for 4 year. Great cars and similar to dc5. Engine is k20a i think and ep3 k20. I had cams from the dc5 in my type r. Dc5 has a little more power but handling is amazing you'll love it for a bit of fun.

A Civic Type R (the GOOD one from like 2002 to 2006) was only a fraction quicker than a Golf 1.9 diesel with a basic remap.
No doubt they are good cars to drive hard but as a daily proposition, not for me...No experience with a teg but the Civic Type R did drive lovely, for one drive... on motorways they are horrid.
