I know what you mean - I found it difficult when fitting mine. I found that it was easiest to undo the panel that it's clipped into, then you can unclip the light from behind - far easier!

I thought about doing that too.

So just remove the screws and the panel drops down?

Cheers!

Yep, that's right - from memory, it's just a few torx bolts and the panel can be dropped down.
Well worth it - LED lights sure give a nice fresh light to the interior

@demon666 Damo, did you drop the panel too on the driver side footwell to get to the footwell light?

Had to drop the panel on mine too. Got the holder popped out without too much hassle, but had next to no slack on the cable going to it so couldn't actually remove the holder enough to get the plug out.

I heard all of this talk to about it being difficult to remove. Got mine easy, I wonder if each car differs.

Think about it this way, it's the same fitting as the glovebox. Was that not easy for you?

Get a small flat blade screwdriver behind the small lip on the light. There's a small rectangle removed to signify this side.

Twist the screwdriver and it will pop out easy!!
