Hi

I hope someone can help.

Our Golf has been left standing for two and a half months.

It actually started first time but had a few warning lamps on, mostly due to lack of use I guess. I manged to flatten the battery by having to move the car a few times without a decent drive.

I took the battery out, fully charged it, replaced it, went for a drive all warning lamps cleared except the battery/alternator lamp.

I have limited auto electrician knowledge! The battery reads 12.1v across the terminals after a couple of starts without the engine running. With the engine running the multi meter reads 0. I have checked the negative battery lead which connects directly to the frame of the car and it seems OK but that’s where my knowledge ends.

Can anyone advise next steps to check? Car was having no problems prior to being left.

Thanks

Rob
