Check coolant warning
« on: October 14, 2014, 07:43:55 am »
Morning guys,

I keep getting the warning on my dash that says to STOP and check the coolant, but everytime i do, the coolant level is inbetween the max & min lines. This wanring only seems to come on in the morning when i first start my car as im heading to work.

I'm thinking about replacing the tank as i know the sensors are prone to corrosion. Anyone else had this issue and solved it?

EDIT: Just found a thread when searching for a new tank. Going to order one and hope that solves the issue. It seems a few people have had the same when the car is cold.

I've had it mate, all I did is remove some coolant for the expansion tank using a antifreeze strength tester and clean the 2 prongs with cotton buds attached to a long screw driver. Never happened again.
