Blue tinted window glass help

hi guys

bought a golf gti few weeks ago look it!

but noticed few weeks after in the rain the rear passenger window (5dr) is tinted green where rest of car is blue..

can anyone help me with part numbers or tint codes differences as its hard to tell colour in online pics

any help would be gratful

also how hard is it to replace rear door glasses??

Early 2005 cars were blue tint. Apparently VW changed in 2006 to green tint because it was cheaper.

Now you can't actually buy the sought after "blue glass" I believe.

You're only chance is to find one in a scrap yard I'm afraid.

Been smashed no doubt, I'm not 100% you can get the Blue anymore, as it was on the early GTI's... be good to know, as my rear screen is green, after I replaced it because some kind soul cracked it.

do you have any images of this? (green tint) its something I've not even realised on the later models.

Quite hard to show, but most GTI's 2007 on are green... here's my old blue one, lol:

You can still get blue glass as I've had both front windows replaced with Vw blue glass via my insurance

theres one on ebay, just type in vw golf gti mk5 rear glass, brand new and cheap.

I had my windscreen replaced on my 2005 gti a few weeks back and they made a point of checking that mine was a blue tint not green.  He said most gti's are green.  Luckily for me he had a nice blue tinted windscreen for me :-)
