Preformance upgrades please help!

My car is a 2.0 tdi 140bhp and need help with the following:

1.Panelfilter/induction kit: my understanding is if i buy a pannel filter, this replaces the standard filter on the airbox? am i correct? if so will this make any major/minor inprovements to preformance?
If i buy an induction kit, i would no longer require the standard airbox? and if this is the case which is better? a factory airbox with an aftermarket pannel filter or buy a new induction kit w/ heatshield?

2.Oil additives: basiclly, are they worth it? I've heard fairly mixed reviews on this one

3.Remapping: I know this is definatly worth it, I plan on going to a company called red dot racing in enfield which a friend has recommended, I've been told i can expect about another 20-30 bhp and roughy 20-30 of tourque. are there any risks? im assuming this would void any warrenty i have on the car?

4.Exaust: already been told that this would be fairy cosmetic as my car is a deisel. can anyone enlighten me anymore?

5. Are there any other preformance mods that would be worth thinking about once i have finished making my car look pretty? i plan on having this car for a long time and would dearly like to try and take it to about 300bhp

heard mixed reviews about the panel fiters,not sure on that one.
Get the remap done,get a a miltek with the front pipe,make the turbo spool up better
you can change the turbo and put a hybrid turbo on but you might find you have to change the injectors and the inter cooler and the brakes,,,

1. Purchasing a Panel Filter will indeed simply replace the standard filter in the airbox...An Induction Kit replaces the whole of the standard airbox...Both wont see a hell of alot of gains, but an induction kit will give you more of a roar on acceleration! I personally would go with a Panel Filter just to keep the standard look!

2. Oil additives? Not a clue on this...

3. Remapping will give you the most gains, I'd do this after you've completed your mod's...

4. In terms of Exhaust, like Maxitrol said, go with a Front Pipe for starters, I'd get the full system just to finish it all off, this would enable better spooling, and allow the car to breathe more freely (should help when coming to remapping)...

5. I think 300bhp is a big figure to try an achieve without some major work, just as up-rated internals and up-rated turbo! 200bhp is more likely!

Never, EVER use oil additives!

Modern high quality motor oils already have spend 1,000s on R&D to get the correct balance of additives for their oils.  These oils are then tested by Volkswagen (or any of the other manufacturer approvals) to ensure they are the best for your engine.

If you DO use non-standard oil additives, you will invalidate your warranty from Volkswagen, and you will also invalidate any warranty from the oil company (such as Castrol).

ALL of the oil companies explicity tell you NOT to use separate additives.

ALL of the specialist additive suppliers (such as Lubrizol) echo the oil companies.
