Hoping to buy a GTi soon
« on: November 13, 2014, 10:19:06 am »
Hello all! I stumbled upon the forum a few days ago and thought I'd sign up as im hoping to buy a GTi early next year and wanted to familiarise myself with the mk5. I've always been a VAG fan as my dad and brother have always had them im quite familiar with the mk4 golf and the 1.8t engine from it but not had any experience with the 2.0 from the mkv.

Also anything I should look out for when buying a mk5?

Cheers,
Phil

Hi Phil,  also new on here myself after buying a mk5 edition 30, there were quite a few extras available on them so homework is key (I didn't do enough!). I'd look for a gti with highline as you can access more settings and it just looks better. Also the Mfsw is a pretty neat gadget to have!  The xenon lights seem like quite a pricey upgrade to do so if you like them buy one with them already fitted!
Good luck finding one  :happy2:
