Winter Tyres

I have the 17inch alloys on my mk5 GTI,

does anyone know whether 225/45 R17 sized winter tyres would be a good size and fit ok?

225/45R17 is the standard tyre size for the Mk5/6 17" Monza wheels so yes they would be the correct size. Check the load rating obviously but I'm sure they'll be fine.

Yes I have 225/45/17 XL snow tyres on Monza's every winter.

If you have standard GTI brakes then OEM 16s with 205/55/16 also fit and keep the speedo accurate
