Hi guys , after some help.
My wife's car is a 2010 A3 140bhp TDI with 89,000 miles. Last weekend I noticed it started to make a noise from a pulley so the following Monday I took it to a local specialist who I have used for many years. On the way down, there was a funny noise for about 10 seconds just round the corner for the garage. Turned out the alternator clutch pulley failed and shredded the belt. Also apparently knocked timing out as when I tried to re start the car it would die straight after starting and the coil light was flashing.
Now even though Audi and the service manual suggest the timing belt to be changed at 133k miles, I decided to replace the timing belt, water pump tensioner etc.
Now since Wednesday morning (Tuesday evening received the car back) the car struggles to start when cold and when it does, it is really lumpy on idle for between 10-15 seconds. Also there is white smoke coming from the dpf to turbo joint. Again only for a few seconds. I've taken the car back to the mechanic and is re booked on Thursday for the day to ensure he has chance to start from stone cold ideally overnight from Wednesday.
I'm struggling to find info regarding this and can't understand how this may have anything to do with the work I've had done.
The car once warm runs brilliantly, actually better than before, a lot smoother and quieter
However these problems have only started since the work being undertaken.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks in advance,
Usman
