My Mk2 Jetta GTI 16V
« on: October 19, 2014, 02:13:17 pm »
Bought this about 5 years ago and it has now been of the road for 4 with a resto started and kids coming along between it has been slow progress but it's nearing roadworthy again.
When I collected it

Added some Polished Borbet A's in 15x7, hit it with the lowering stick and added German plates before going to our own GTINI Castlewellan and Dubshed shows

The car was totally original when I got it. Had a full VW history but I wasn't happy with all the honesty round the engine bay so this happened when it was taken off the road.

A clue to where its going is in the pics above

Years of dirt had stuck itself to the original wax sealer applied to the car and although protected it had made it look rather grubby

Had forgotten the best bit of the car earlier. The interior. Mint velour GTI Jetta retro

And the genuine Hella tinted tail lights I had picked up for it. Rocking horse poo these

Looks nice, My friend had a Tornado Red 16V for years was a top motor!

He fitted some 15" 2 x Piece BBS RS's on his which looked awesome, He still has the wheels in the attic wont part with them.

Only thing I am not a fan on is the Borbet's, I much prefer a more OEM look but that is just my preference.

Good to see one still going though  :happy2:

Very nice :happy2:

I have a MK2 8V quite a few years ago and it was a great car.

Cheers Paul

I sold the Borbets as they were just a bit small looking for my liking. Have a set of these in the garage

Had a look there mate. Nice. My mate has a Tornado red Jetta with a 24V V6 in it just recently done. Do you know if yours is still on the road. I know of a few here in Northern Ireland but they are all in bits with very slim chance of them seeing the road again.
