SONAX Xtreme Brilliant Shine Detailer
« on: October 21, 2014, 10:54:29 am »
Been reading quite a bit about this product and fancy trying it myself after a normal wash after drying the car off with a microfiber towel.

I take it its just a case of spraying it on all surfaces and essentially 'polishing' the car until it has been worked into the paintwork?

My questions are, do i need to make sure this stays away from my sideskirts and other plastic parts incase it marks like a polish?  Also, i have heard some people using it on their alloys, is this safe to do?

Thanks for your help.   :happy2:

Thanks for the info.  Was actually just thinking about the windows.  Why not front windscreen, is this just personal preferance or does it cause problems in rain?

It'll smear when you use the wipers as it's effectively a form of liquid wax.
Use a proper glass sealant from Carlack, Nanolex or GTechnique instead mate.

Tried this out and can agree its great stuff  :happy2:

Beads water like mad and lasts a lot longer than others I've tried

Applied it all over my car and to my front screen and it didn't smear or streak but makes the wipers jump and skip as the water goes and effectively you're dry wiping

I use it on everything paint, wheels to glass. Haven't done windscreen as I'm scared but it's great stuff would recommend to anyone. It won't stain your black plastic trim either.

As mentioned, won't mark trim, only protect it if anything. I'd personally go for a dedicated glass sealant for your windscreen such as G-Techniq G1.

For your plastic trim, have a look at the Sonax Plastic Trim Restorer Gel, it's really easy to apply/remove and sheets water like mad! Long lasting too

Just an update on my own thread!

Used this stuff today after clkeaning the car.  Really easy to use, just spray on and rub into bodywork.  Took about 5 minutes to do whole car.

Poured a glass of water on the bonnet after puting this on, water just runs straight off car.  Didnt mark the plastic bodywork either.  Great product.   :happy2:

Definitely worth the £12-13 i paid for it.  Should last quite a while aswell.

Was talking to another guy who uses it the other day and he was saying that he reckons he uses it every 4-5 washes.  Pretty good protection if it lasts that long between applications.  I have used it twice in the past three washes but will start to use it maybe every third wash now.

Definitely worth a purchase.
