which size tyre

 getting some bbs ch 19"x8j ofset 50 for my mk5 golf which has been lowered--I rang rim style today and the bbs alloys they supply come with 225-35-19 tyre's but i know people have put 235-35-19 tyres on,not sure now which width to go for

I've got 235 as per pm and never had a problem. A 235 wide tyre will obviously give more grip but the sidewalk will be slightly bigger (3mm) but it's worth the extra 10mm on the road

ET50 offset is very close to std GTI offset which is ET51 :happy2:

I had this type on my car. They were good alloys, but being lowered quite a bit I had rubbing under compression (not much, but enough to stop me using them on track). I could have lifted the suspension to suit, but I wanted to stay low so sold them to someone more deserving and higher. This was with 235mm tyres, but a narrower tyre may have meant that I would have gotten away with it. :smiley:

Shouldn't have a problem with the extra width with that offset...
