New mod - clean exhaust tips

I'm not massively into cleaning my car, I'd rather be driving it. However, I found myself free this afternoon, so decided to tackle my filthy exhaust.

Quite a satisfying way to spend the afternoon. Still want to revisit it and get it even cleaner  :smiley:

Was about to ask the same question haha my exhaust was black and had to use wet and dry to clean it but struggling to polish the scratches out!

Im also interested in what you used on them mate as look spot on!
Tried cleaning mine but still not happy with them!
Thinking of going to local power flow fabricators and getting them to weld some stainless tips on for me :-)
Problem then solved forever as original tips are mild steel  :sick:

Thanks guys. There are still a few black speckles that I want to get rid of, but I'm pleased with the result.

I bought myself some Autosol metal cleaner from my local car spares shop (£3.99) and then add a few bits from Home Bargains. Scouring pads, some cloths and for some reason, a dishmatic.

Technique was apply> scrub> repeat. Occasional polish with the cloth. Overall cost was about a fiver plus elbow grease!

Afterwards I gave the car a quick wash as it looked wrong!

Well worth a try - get yours posted!

Autosol is good, used it before with good effect.. as long as it hasn't been left too long to etch into the metal, it can be brought back.. evidence above, good work mate :D

I have found T Cut good for removing the stubborn stuff off chrome/stainless exhaust tips.

Use 000 grade wire wool with a decent metal polish, it won't scratch.
