Throttle body swap, plug and play?
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:48:04 pm »
Need a definitive answer on this, will be swapping out the throttle body on my 06 GTI for a revision Q TB that I have bought, is it just a straight swap with no further action needed in VAGCOM? I have heard conflicting stories that if you swap the TB it will need calibrating via VCDS. Other sources say it will self calibrate. Just want to know before I swap it over.

Jim.

Mine was fine without VCDS... swap it out and take it for a drive... but I know there is a realign procedure in VCDS.

No problem I am going to swap it tonight. Is it easily accessible?

Cheers.

No, it's fiddly and cramped - but I do have sausages for fingers... curse my sausage fingers : P

Thank you. Is it a couple of hoses then just the four hex bolts? Do I disconnect the battery first? Thank you for the help.

Jim.
