Use the correct sub sections of the forum.... otherwise we might as well just have "Mk5 General Area" and delete the rest....

If people use the correct sections then it makes finding stuff much much easier.

TBH, I think if more peeps used the "Recent Posts" link there would less call for adding things to the wrong categories (as I think most do it to get exposure of their thread)... it must be annoying for mods, as I've just seen the state of the "General Area" :(

I know it may be an extreme measure, but how about a "terms and conditions" that you must agree to before signing up, which has a big header that says "BEFORE POSTING..." and then quickly states "use the search features, then post in the right forum sub-section". This way, if new joiners repeatedly post in the incorrect sections (messing up the forums) then a 3 strike and you're out policy can be implemented.

This is true, hence the idea of big titles to grab attention. Another option could be to have an additional moderator(s) for the General and Random sections to ease the work load on yourself, Alex and dazza, like you've got in the classifieds?

I take it this is to do with my Squeaky brake thread which got moved - every thread will have a area so what is classified as general, only way your control it is by having more mods!
