Buying an Audi S3 8L with 140k?
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:43:25 am »
Morning fellow forumers!  :driver:

Seen the above car on Audi-Sport.net. Looks pretty good nick for 2001 car with a full service history with the current owner of 11 years. All major servicing carried out in the last 4 or 2 years. 800£ spend this year on various minor issues. Also remapped with no other supporting mods.

Also I've seen a 2006 Clio RS locally for just under 4k with 70k miles.

Feeling impulsive to buy the Audi but the voice of reason being the wife thinks otherwise.

Need some balanced opions!  :driver:

I've actually been thinking about getting one of these and doing a BT conversion via AKS for track days.

But then I saw one broken down on side of road this morning which made me think again  :signLOL:

Still might do it in new year if the numbers come in

Ultimately it's just a 1.8t engine so a pretty reliable engine, for serious power is worth doing rods and might as well do pistons while you're there.
A friend has a Stage 2 1.8t k03s Mk4 which he's owned for years with over 160k on it and the engine is healthy and it does shift.

That car OP linked to seems to have a lot of history which is a good thing..
